How long have you been pole dancing at Venus Pole Fitness? Since December 22, 2012.
Have you undergone a transformation (physically, emotionally or both!)?
Yes, I have gone through a huge transformation in both areas. Physically I can describe the transformation I have gone through. Starting at 220 lbs+ and going down 33 pounds since I’ve started! My pant size has dropped from an 18 to an 8! Emotionally I have become a stronger; more secure about myself. A few months ago I was not able to wear a pair of shorts passed my knees, now I’m wearing a two piece bathing suit! I have become a more confident healthy person.
Did you have any previous dance or fitness training before starting pole?
No I never had any previous dance lessons before, though I was an athlete in high school, but never did I ever look like this!
What made you decide to take classes?
My co-workers invited me one afternoon to take a 5:30 pm boot camp class, after that night I was hooked and wanted to keep up with the challenge.
Favorite class and why?
My favorite class would be boot camp because each time I walk out of a boot camp class my butt gets kicked all the time, I know I had another great work out! Also my pole favorite class would have to be Megan’s Pole and Flexibility class because it has made me develop my flexibility skills while having fun!
What is it that you LOVE about our studio?
The thing I have always loved about Venus Pole is the fact that it’s an all women work out studio. The women in the studio are AMAZING and very encouraging. Knowing that we are all going through the work outs together makes you want to keep going and finish the work out strong.
Platforms, barefeet or legwarmers?
It would have to be platforms because it’s the only time were I can wear these shoes and it’s acceptable, feeling sexy and tall making my legs look luxuriously long. I love that feeling when I wear my platforms!
What are you currently working on technically?
I’m technically working on my upper body, and core wanting to be stronger in these areas. I have always said, “Man one day I will have Gina’s arms!”
What are you working on artistically?
Artistically I am working on going through a full pole class using the moves I know to flow perfectly when doing them.
Favorite song to pole dance to?
No I don’t have a favorite song, but anything makes my booty pop is the type I like!

Being by myself, enjoying a cup of tea especially when raining, watching the water fall, one of the most relaxing treats I can get.
Final Question: Any inspirational advice you would like to share with new polers?
I would have to tell new girls to be adventurous and let go! Be that amazing confident wild woman and do something you have never done before. Pole is a perfect place to start something new, a perfect way to discover an inner goddess and see that sexy, creative side you have locked inside of you!
