Kids? Grandkids? If so brag a bit: I have an amazing two year old daughter named Ryleigh, she has the greatest personality and energy like the energizer bunny!

How long have you been a Goddess at Venus Pole Fitness? I have been coming to VPF for 3 months and one week and am totally addicted!

Have you undergone a transformation (physically, emotionally or both!)? Oh wow let’s see, BOTH! Venus has helped me physically and emotionally. It has given me a new outlook on myself and my body. I use to be so insecure about my body and my imperfections. I have embraced my body and now love it! It has also given me confidence in myself and showed me that I am beautiful and sexy. Physically it has helped me immensely! I have a neck injury that has held me back for years. Doing boot camp and pole has helped me with gaining upper body strength, core strength and toning my body all over. I have also lost 18 lbs!!!

Did you have any previous dance or fitness training before starting pole? I have never taken any form of dance before this and had only done some physical therapy for my neck.

What made you decide to take classes? I have been searching for my little miracle for quite some time and had not found it. When I was 19 years old I had a severe injury to my neck that caused me to have an Anterior 2 Level Cervical Fusion. The surgery fixed the injury but I still had a lot of residual pain and permanent nerve damage. For years I have tried physical therapy and different medications. Nothing really helped and I was miserable. During this time I got pregnant and had my beautiful little girl. There were so many things I could not do because of the pain. I couldn’t even get on the floor and play with her because it hurt too bad. I found Venus online and thought it would be something that would be fun for me to attempt for myself and to possibly help strengthen my core to help with my back and neck. I needed something that I could at least try and attempt and at this point I was willing to try anything. I admit when I went into this I was very unsure and wasn’t sure I would physically be able to do it. Diane was extremely helpful and discussed my situation with me. I started out very slow and worked myself fully into each workout. Three months later I am doing things that were not possible three months before! I am working out full bore and taking pole classes and on the floor giving Ryleigh pony rides! I feel like I have come so far already and am excited to keep going and push it further. Venus has been my little miracle and got me out of pain and stronger! I am forever grateful for all they have done for me!

Favorite class and why? OOhh this is a tough one because I love them all! I would have to say for me it would be Pole101 and Boot Camp. Pole 101 because it gives you a little bit of everything in one class and boot camp because I love working up a sweat and knowing that I am strengthening my body with every exercise I do.

What is it that you LOVE about Venus? I love the atmosphere! It is so awesome to go to a place with a bunch of women just like you and let loose and have fun. Everyone there is supportive and there for you. It is like a big family. The instructors are AMAZING and are very helpful. I am so glad that I get to be a part of this awesome place!

Platforms, barefeet or legwarmers? Platforms for sure! They are super cute and sexy! I love the way I feel when I put them on and dance.

What are you currently working on technically? I am going to start taking more classes to work on my spins. I don’t know very many at this time but am super eager to learn more and even some intermediate stuff.

What are you working on artistically? Being able to have everything flow together when I dance and to be graceful.

Do you have a favorite song to pole dance to? Thanks to Diane ;o) my new favorite song to dance to his Holy Grail by Jay Z. It has slow sensual moments and some rocking super sexy moments!

Final Question:
Any inspirational advice you would like to share with women who are afraid to try pole dancing? Never be afraid to put yourself out there and try something new! Be open and creative and just have fun. Pole dancing is not just for one type of woman, it is for EVERYONE! If you want a confidence boost from out of this world these classes will give it to you. Feeling sexy and confident is something we women need and you can have a blast while doing it with a group of fantastic ladies.
