Recap: NPC Bikini Competition- Taking Masters Overall Title

Gina and I were both so exhausted yesterday with this ENORMOUS show of almost 500 competitors.   By the time I crawled into bed, after then traveling to Anaheim for my daughters cheer competition to be held this morning, I had been up for almost 24 hours.   Butttt wanted to post an update today… You can see miss Gina and I are bringing home quit a bit of hardware!! My gorgeous girl Gina not only won 2nd place in masters bikini B but also 5th place in Novice bikini B.   Both groups were huge and there were some phenomenal competitors up there.   Annnnddddd, you’ll notice I have a new utensil to spread peanut butter on my protein pancakes with. A shiny new Sword Trophy.   I had the amazing, mind blowing, still-can’t-beleive-it-and-I’m-pinching-myself honor to win OVERALL in masters bikini. Whaaattttt!?!?? Me!????   Out of over 40 other amazing and beautiful women!?!? That’s just crazy. And I also had the privilege of snagging a 4th place trophy in Novice bikini B in a group of over 20+ gals that had some girls as young as 18!   This just goes to show you that anything YOU put your mind to you can achieve. I’ve been overweight. I’ve been in a place where I felt helpless, depressed and sick all the time. I always looked a magazines and fit women and thought “someday”. Some of you may know this cutie below in the pic. For those of you that don’t, she is my little sister, Tina. In the past, Tina and I have exercised and we’ve dieted together often (when 1000 calorie diets or counting “points” were the only way we knew how to drop pounds). I can remember those conversations “how many points do you have left for the day sis?” or “I can’t eat that because I only have 3 points left”. Those methods may work for some, and I’m glad that they make people aware of portion control, but it’s really an insane way to live. Overcomplicating things is a surefire way to make you want to quit. And most women do. A little over 8 weeks ago, Tina called me and said, “I’m ready to get my body back, can you help me?” She had committed to a transformation program at a local fitness studio in her town. Tina was exercising 3 times a week, but she needed some clean eating know-how to really see the results she was after.
