Occupation and age: First time being a stay home mom (two and a half months into it), and loving every minute of it. Approaching the Big Four-O!

Kids? Grandkids? If so brag a bit: I have two kids, a sassy 11-year-old daughter and a charming 13-year-old son. They are the center of my universe and my pride and joy.

Your motto: “Never half a#% anything! Always give 110%!”

How long have you been pole dancing at Venus Pole Fitness? It will be a full wonderful year this January.

Have you undergone a transformation (physically, emotionally or both!)?
Definitely both! I have never felt as strong physically or as comfortable in my own skin. I never thought that coming to VPF would bring on so many personal changes. Since I became a GBE, I was introduced to a healthier lifestyle and the results have been truly rewarding, not just because I have lost inches or have built muscle (though I have been told I have guns now, THANK YOU VENUS) but because I feel so much better about myself, I’m more energized and motivated to try new things. I am so grateful to the woman who started it all by creating such a wonderful space where women of all ages can come together in the most comfortable environment to workout and at the same time grow on so many personal levels.

Did you have any previous dance or fitness training before starting pole?
None, what so ever!

What made you decide to take classes?
I received the Pole 101 – 5-week series as a Christmas gift from the hubby last year and have been hooked ever since.

Favorite class and why?
BOOTCAMP!!! Absolutely love the challenge and the abuse that all of the awesome VPF boot camp instructors dish out, but also love the lap/striptease classes…they are steamy hot!

What is it that you LOVE about our studio?
The gorgeous Miss Diane of course, and her entire VPF team. They are an amazing group of women that have perfected the art of helping others, whether it is physically or with encouraging words.

Platforms, barefeet or legwarmers?
Platforms, for sure! If I could workout in them, I most certainly would.

What are you currently working on technically?
Spins, spins, and more spins.

What are you working on artistically?
Transitions and fluidity so that a routine looks graceful and effortless.

Any inspirational advice you would like to share with new polers?
Relax, enjoy yourself, and don’t be too critical of yourself. Rome wasn’t built in one day. Pole is hard work but it’s also lots of fun, especially when there are so many encouraging polers around you.
