If you’ve ever caught yourself saying “I don’t have enough time to workout” then you aren’t alone.
I know those words have escaped my lips more than I care to admit. Usually what this really means is one of two things for me (and maybe you can relate!):
- I am not making it a priority because I’d rather do something else (like sleep in or zone out on Facebook).
- I feel that if I can’t get an hour of exercise then it’s pointless.
The reality of it is that the issue of NOT doing it starts between the ears with my mindset. I talk myself out of it much easier than I talk myself INTO it.
The best way to just get it done with is promising yourself that you’ll start and if you are still not feeling like it after a few minutes then go ahead and give yourself permission to quit.
Hey, I have those days too. But, what I find is that once I get myself started I usually perk up and finish the workout. And those workouts tend to be the best ones yet!
This workout I have for you today is VERY deceiving in that it seems like 5 minutes is just so simple and not effective. Well it IS effective. This workout can be the very thing you need to de-funk, get a good sweat session in and you can push yourself to work harder or longer.
The best part?? You can do it from home in your pajamas if you feel like it!
Set your timer for 5 minutes and perform as many rounds of:
10 push ups
10 jump jacks
Yep, that’s it!
I know that we often get wrapped up with thoughts of:
- I can’t get to the gym so I’m not going to exercise
- I don’t have enough time
- If I can’t get an hour of exercise then I don’t want to bother – it’s not worth it
- My kids are sick and I can’t leave the house
But those things are just excuses most of the time aren’t them?
The reality is that something is ALWAYS better than nothing. Even if it’s something as simple as 5 minutes of quick burst exercise AKA HIIT!!
