weight loss promises that are bullshit

A few days ago I received an e-mail from a woman with a desperate plea.

“I need a plan that works, my husband is willing to pay for it, BUT demands that I get results”.

Here’s the thing.

I remember when I joined Weight Watchers over 10 years ago. I was of the same mentality. I had joined alongside a co-worker and we were “in it” together. Their program (at the time) promised weight loss of up to 20 pounds.

I bought into it. And many more programs that would throw promises of a magical weight loss numbers.

And I get it. I truly do. We all want that concrete answer to our weight loss desires.

We get bamboozled into the big claims, the notion that we too will achieve that same result.

But, here’s what I’ve learned, and I want YOU to know as well.

Beware of any weight loss program that promises specific outcomes.

We’ve all seen it. Big bold promises like- “Drink these shakes and lose 5 pounds a week”, “drop 3 dress sizes in 4 weeks”, or “join our program and lose xyz pounds in 30 days”.

I call these irresponsible and reckless promises. These are clever ways to suck you in and leave you with a disappointment hangover.

This is why we often “program hop” from one to another. It’s because we think there is fault in whatever were doing and the next best thing is sure to work.

It’s usually not the program.

It’s our mentality around the program.

How patient are you? Resiliency is key.

Staying the course and implementing consistency can be so hard can’t it? We want fast, fast fast and we want it now, now, now! I know the feeling all too well.

We must have “Program Willpower”. Stick to a program, give it at least 6 months of consistent effort and see how far you’ve come. Then, you can re-asses and course correct to change things up again.

Willpower is a muscle that you must use daily to improve, it takes practice, time and patience.

What I do always promise in my transformation programs, is accountability so that you stay consistent with the program.

When does the program start?

Program starts Monday May 2nd thru May 31st. (4 solid weeks!). And will be held at Venus Pole Fitness Studio in Modesto.

What is included?
  • Unlimited bootcamp classes
  • Unlimited pole dance classes
  • Private coaching group for participants to post their food daily and receive coaching by me!
  • Meal plan, grocery list and accompanying recipes
  • Weekly emails with tips on common struggles…weekend eating, fast food choices, dining out, etc.

What times are the classes held?

  • Bootcamp has quite a few options!
    • AM’s for you early risers… 5:30am and 8:30am MWF
    • PM’s for you night owls… 5:30pm and 7:30pm on MWThurs, Tues 6:45pm and Friday 5:30pm
    • Saturdays at 8:30am
  • Pole Classes are mainly after 5pm Monday thru Friday and we also have some Saturday and Sunday classes as well.

This program is designed for women who want to get a jumpstart on feeling good this summer. Wearing a swimsuit with confidence. Women who are overwhelmed with getting started with exercise and nutrition.

Come to the studio, do the work, be open to eating new foods and realize that we are just scratching the surface. You must be open to working on your mindset around diet and exercise for true change to happen. And we work on that in the course of the 4 weeks.
