I was talking with a close family member about some injuries she was facing. Her doctor has recommended that she stop doing all high impact exercises or weight lifting.
Naturally, I piped in with “why don’t you do yoga? I loooove yoga”.
Then she said the dreaded words, “yeah, but isn’t yoga for wimps? I mean, what real kind of workout can you get from stretching?”
I immediately got down on the floor and showed her a few moves that kick my butt. Then decided I’d better put together a few more vids!
I absolutely love yoga, not just for some of the intense workouts, but also for restorative reasons. Even the simplest appearing moves can be the most challenging.
For this video, perform 10 repetitions of each exercise.
You can do 2-3 rounds and make sure to rest 60 seconds between each full round if you need to.
- Duck Under Push-ups
- 1 Leg Hip Bridge
- Downward Dog Mountain Climbers
Make sure to keep your core engaged the entire time and BREATHE!
